Behind-the-Wheel Driving Lessons

This course is designed to help you develop the knowledge and skills needed to safely and legally operate a motor vehicle.  An emphasis is placed on proper decision making and risk management skills while driving. 

Course Content:

• You will learn competent, responsible driving habits
• Develop traffic knowledge
• Risk recognition and responsibility
• Collision avoidance
• Defensive driving techniques
• Proper turns, braking and acceleration
• Students will experience actual residential and multi-lane driving situations

You will also learn:

• The instrument controls of the vehicle
• How to properly use the Steering Wheel, Brakes and Accelerator
• How to make proper right and left turns
• How to drive in light and heavy traffic
• How to make safe lane changes
• How to identify hazards around intersections
• How to park in a parking space
• How to make a three-point turn
• How to properly back your vehicle
